Approximate Astrological Ascendant Finder Table
The Ascendant and the first house cusp are really the same thing. The Ascendant is the sign which was rising over the horizon at the precise moment of birth and therefore, sets a strong tone for the persons life.
Usually the Ascendant sign traits along with the sign the Ascendant ruling planet is in, as well as any planets in the first house, describe a kind of mask that people feel they must wear in order to impress others in some way; before they feel comfortable enough to be themselves. I call it the survival persona. Via the law of correspondences, the first house Is attuned to Aries, and that is survival. See Ascendant Interpretations.
Use this table to discover your Ascendant, also known as your Rising Sign. All you need is your time of birth and the month of birth. Naturally, if your chart is calculated mathematically, various factors may alter the actual ascendant.
For those who are attempting to calculate your own charts by hand, this chart is intended to be used primarily to check your calculations and may be off by a sign.
If your final manual chart calculations show an ascendant sign that is two or more removed from what this table shows, then you may want to check your work again for errors.
Signs of long ascension are Virgo and Libra. Signs of short ascension are Pisces and Aries.
Reminder: this table is only approximate.Deduct 1 hr. for Daylight Savings if it applies before consulting this table.
