The question of whether or not the Age of Aquarius (1900 to 4050) has begun has been debated by some astrologers. The fact that many radical and unprecedented scientific advancements, political and social changes have begun in earnest make it rather obvious that some kind of important shift is occurring.
Humankind is being carried forward into an age that is infinitely dissimilar to previous astrological ages. For the majority of modern people the worship of science has already replaced the idolization of religious martyrs, Sun deities and other historical symbols of worship.
Approximately, 4550 to 2400 B.C., man learned to control the element of earth and began tilling the ground beneath him, actively mastering the art of animal propagation for his own advancement during the Age of Taurus.
During the time period 2400 to 250 B.C. the Age of Aries ushered in the use of the element of fire and mankind discovered that metals could be molded by it. Instruments of war and destruction proliferated during this period, all indicative of the ruling Mars energy.
The most recent Piscean age (250 B.C to 1900 A.D.) saw man adrift on the oceans and rivers of the world, discovering new continents, building waterways and controlling the flow of water for his own use and advancement.
The transition from the Age of Pisces to the Age of Aquarius and the use of water to generate electricity seems to be a natural result. The accelerating influence of Aquarius brought us flight by air and the electric light bulb among many other modern inventions. Mankind was no longer required to plan his activities by the rising and setting of the Sun.
Under the influence of increasing Uranus energies, many have endeavored to transcend human death. It is interesting to observe that the Aquarian Age has also ushered in man’s obsession with the extension of his own life by scientific research and that the sign Aquarius is in square aspect to Scorpio, the sign of death.
It is no longer inconceivable that through the use of scientific advancements the theory of the afterlife and reincarnation may be proved scientifically. Mankind may lift the veil between that which was once considered to be “Divine” and therefore unknowable.
What can we expect during the Age of Aquarius?
Modern inventions such as televisions and computers will make us less personal. We can now entertain ourselves without the human interaction once required. We can feel like we are a part of the whole without ever leaving our own space and this results in a kind of emotional detachment. Although modes of transportation have increased our ability to easily experience more of the surrounding environment, we may suffer from increased feelings of isolation as the continued lack of face to face human interaction and companionship takes a backseat. To combat this tendency, we may discover that it has become necessary to finally leave the comfort of our personal space and join with others once again. In fact, it may become the key to survival, only this time we will find ourselves a part of the larger group. The individuality experienced while in autonomous mode must now be made to align with something much larger and more inclusive. Our new identity will be with the group and we will now be required to express more of our unique individuality within the confines of the group welfare. We may see the emotional (more volatile) group mind replaced to a large extent by the logical (colder) group mind. Hopefully, mankind will be able to successfully merge not only his logical intellect, but his compassionate heart as well, into this new environment. Until the transition is complete, all on this planet may witness some pretty bizarre events begin to unfold as we attempt to bring the best from what we have learned during the watery Age of Pisces into the new electric Age of Aquarius.
